LEGO City Update no. 19 – Modular Building

LEGO City Update no. 19 – Modular Building. In this video I show you how I build a LEGO modular building for my LEGO city – Bakersville. I’m ver much inspired by Brian Lyles and Jason Lyles book “The LEGO Neighborhood book” which has some great LEGO building techniques and suggestions for LEGO modular buildings. I show you how I build a LEGO door on a corner and how I used SNOT techniques to decorate walls!

Thank you for watching!

  1. I was almost shocked when you mentioned you were trying to decide between a pet shop and pub, because, I recently combined both into one building. I started with set 31097 and managed to make the ground floor a pet shop and the 2 top floors a pub, keeping color schemes and basic architecture the same from the set. Anyway, love the channel, keep up the great work! I finally have shelving up for my city and have been thinking of doing a channel. Thanks!

    1. Thanks a lot for your kind words πŸ™‚ I like the idea of having two different businesses in one building. I have an idea for the upper floor already though – I just hope I have enough of the colors I’m thinking I want to use πŸ˜€ Sound like you are going to have a great time putting up a city on those shelves – very cool πŸ™‚

  2. hi, nice moc, nice colour scheme. door is offset though, try working with jumpers. horizontal decorations above windows need a plate underneath for correct depth. great work

    1. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting πŸ™‚ Yeah, it’s true. The door is a little bit offset but I think I’ll settle with this for now. I’ve previously tried to make something like this and this is the most sturdy design yet πŸ™‚ I will continue working on solutions for it though as I am not finished using diagonal doors πŸ™‚
I have been thinking about adding the plate at the top, but I’m afraid that it’ll hide the canopy too much!? Alternatively I could switch the cheese wedges for something flatter!?
