LEGO City Update #10 – Cliff Side

LEGO City Update # 10 – Cliff Side! In this video I give you another update from my LEGO City – Bakersville. In this LEGO City update I continue updating the harbor of my LEGO city and show you how I build LEGO Cliffs and start out on a LEGO Lighthouse. It’s waterside fun for all LEGO AFOLs!

  1. Hey BB

Well, that was a fun video. Iโ€™m sad but glad that the police station came down. I always thought it was a tad too large for Bakersville. Given the lack of any real criminality in your city, a small station may suffice? Maybe even a combined police/harbour masters office. There are few specialist harbour and port police forces in the U.K. so, maybe a combined force might suit Bakersville better? You could incorporate a marine police force too?

I like what you have achieved so far with the newly opened up space. The platform with the hotdog vendor is really very good. And, I like how the rocks spill out from the main cliff.

As for the lighthouse itself. Maybe with the freed up space left, you could incorporate the light into the new police/harbour master office. Rather than having a 360 degree light, a beacon at the top of a brick built look out tower maybe more appropriate and fitting? The light wouldnโ€™t need to revolve because you have land behind it!

    Great progress so far! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

    1. Hey RB!

Thanks for the wonderful comment – I really appreciate it very much!

I think you are onto something with that suggestion! A harbour police force may be just the thing I’m looking for! I think it would be very fitting. I’ll ponder a good solution for this. I think I’ll be going with the lighthouse though as I really want to try my hand at it. However, some kind of interaction between the harbour police and the lighthouse could work! Great ideas!

      Thanks a lot ๐Ÿ™‚

    2. I hadn’t really thought about it before, but where I live it’s incredibly rare to see a building that’s only a police station. Most are part of a municipal/government building that offers other services to the public, like issuing licenses & permits. Thanks for getting me thinking!

      1. Hmmm, that’s an interesting thing you mention. I’m pretty sure that most police stations in Denmark are only police stations. But, it’s also where they issue licenses and such. But, that’s a police job here in Denmark!!?

  2. Hi Jacob,
I would suggest a few bits of greenery growing on the ‘cliff’, just a couple of those plates with a couple of leaves on (32607) would enhance the suggestion of a slightly more ‘organic’ and natural feel. And of course you need a seagull sitting there looking out for some fish!

    1. Hey WTE! Thanks a lot – that’s some great suggestions! I’ve already pondered the seagull, but I don’t have any yet. At some point I should probably compile a list with stuff that people have suggested and do a bricklink order! ๐Ÿ˜€ The greenery is a very good idea too – I’ll be using that! Thanks a lot ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Yeah, I think it worked out well! Thanks a lot for your great suggestion! as well – very nice of you! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m probably going to take a break from the harbor for a video or two and then get back to it. I’ve got some other ideas I want to build as well ๐Ÿ™‚
